Free Spirituality and Creativity E-Books

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004SQT4GS/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B004SQT4GS&linkCode=as2&tag=amazo22-20I really like books. I have a whole room full of them here at home. There is something magical about holding a book and turning the pages. The feel, the smell, the wonder of books! I have no room left for books, but that never stops me from checking out the guy selling them on blankets in the street, or digging through piles at thrift shops.

While that is not happening any time soon, someone went and invented digital books. Sure, it isn't as physical, and doesn't have book smell, but danged if it doesn't save space! I can load a bunch of them into a portable digital device and hit the road. Five hundred books without carrying five hundred pounds? BEHOLD! THE FUTURE!

What could be even better than consolidating space and making a possible moving day easier? Getting e-books for cheap and/or free, duh. That is the bomb diggity. The following books you see covers for in this post are currently free at the time of posting, so scope 'em out before they get their prices back.

You can click any book cover to be brought to the summary, reviews and download link. These are for Kindle, but don't worry if you don't own one. There are many apps for reading Kindle books these days. Amazon offers one for smartphones, tablets, desktop, and also a Cloud reader which allows you to read e-books on their website.

If you are a student, take advantage of 50% off the regular membership price. Yeah boyyyy. I used an old student email I don't even remember the password for, and it worked. I haven't been a student for five years.

I am the most interested in the aura and thought forms book. I've always wanted to learn how to aura read, although I'm pretty sure that's not what that book is about. I have also always wanted a Kirlian camera, which is capable of photographing an aura. The images are amazing!

That's it for now! Hope you find something useful or interesting in these books. If you don't, at least you didn't have to pay for it!

The Sound of OM and Cymatics

Om, all fancy-like
If you meditate, or do Yoga, the word Om is familiar to you. Om, written universally as ॐ; in Devangari (and also as ओं oṃ, औं auṃ, or 'ओ३म्' om)  is a mantra and mystical Sanskrit sound of Hindu origin (geographically India), sacred and important in various Dharmic religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. It appears at the beginning and end of most recitations, prayers, and texts.

If you are not familiar with the sound of Om, click HERE to hear it in this meditation video on YouTube. Also HERE for a different one you may like to chill with.

Getting your Om on has many benefits, regardless of your spiritual or religious belief. Chanting is a centuries-old technique that connects humans with themselves, the Universe, and the Spirit by raising their vibrations through well,  vibrating! Om-ing, and in some cases, just listening to Om has, but is not limited to, the following effects:

  • Blood pressure and heart rate are the lowest in the day while chanting.
  • Lowers cholesterol.
  • Blocks the release of stress hormones.
  • If losing weight, you can obtain greater weight loss.
  • Increases immune function.
  • Maintains flexible joints and muscles.
  • Boosts energy and vitality.
  • Can relieve sinus blockage.
  • Cures depression.
It's good vibrations! The vibrating tones involved with chanting create a melodious effect in the body known as Neuro-linguistic effect [NLE]. If you know the meaning of the mantra you are reciting, it creates a Psycholinguistic effect [PLE]. Both effects happen because of the curative chemicals released in the brain while chanting.

Now that you are a bit more familiar of what Om sounds like, and what it can do, what does it LOOK like? Did you know that sounds have shape? Sound has geometry, and the study of this is called cymatics. More pleasing sounds, with good vibration, will produce more pleasing, geometric shapes. And after seeing the elliptical patterns that Om makes, it pretty much set in stone for me just how amazing and beneficial it is to include chanting in a daily routine.

The following video shows what happens when “Om” is chanted and recorded inside the Great Pyramid,  then played back on a tonoscope to measure the visible effects this ancient, sacred, sound. Science is cool.

In ancient Hindu traditions, Om is believed to be the divine sound that was present at the beginning of the universe and is thought to have created all of existence. Seems legit, since matter in the universe is a bunch of vibrational waves. Just ask Nikola Tesla. Since Om produces concentric rings the way it does, perhaps it supports the creation theory? It looks like the rings from the feedback of an explosion, such as from the big bang.

Such symbols and similar spirals are universal, and have been drawn in ancient times, and carved on cave walls. In terms of spirituality, the spiral symbol can represent the path leading from outer consciousness (materialism, external awareness, ego, outward perception) to the inner soul (enlightenment, unseen essence, nirvana, cosmic awareness). Seems very fitting of Om, does it not?

Concentric rings are also the symbol for Atlantis. I'll let The Spirit Science explain why that's relevant in the Human History Movie.

In terms of rebirth or growth, the spiral symbol can represent the consciousness of nature beginning from the core or center and thus expanding outwardly. Mystics, and now science, recognize this as the way of all things. We see this in flowers and pine cones, for example. Is it far off to suggest that the universe is still feeling the effects of Om present at the "big bang"? They say we are still resonating from it.

On another note, the frequency of Om is 136.1 Hz, which is said to be the frequency of the heart and/or Earth's planetary cycle. But the frequency that I had read is the one which all living things vibrate (when in healthy harmony) is 528 Hz. Are we created through Om, but need 528 to maintain? That is another blog in itself!
